There are a few simple things you can do to make sure people can find your Tellie Site. Site indexers like to see human-readable content, that people search for, and content that will get them what they want on the first shot. This mostly means that setting up the basics of your Tellie Site can play a big role in ensuring that people will find you and your site.
Pro Tip: You can up your game even further by using free tools like Google Trends to identify what terms people use when searching for content like yours, and then incorporating top searches into your own website.
Before we begin, a note on image optimization that applies across each of these steps.
What is image optimization? Image optimization is about reducing the file size of your images as much as possible, without sacrificing quality, so your page load times remain low.
Some tips on optimizing your images:
- Use Adobe's free image resizing tool to reduce the file size of any image.
- When you can, use the webp format for images. This is an ultra-compressed yet high resolution image format. Google likes pages that load fast, and utilzing webp will help. You can convert your images to webp for free here.
- Use descriptive names for your images. So instead of IMG_1032.webp, use Your-Name.webp, or Album-Name.webp. Keep your descriptions short and to the point!
Share your Tellie Site
By linking to your Tellie Site from your social profiles, or other heavily trafficked, verifiable sources, you are boosting your sites SEO. Grab your site URL from the top of your Dashboard home.
You should also be sure to link to your own domain or other key web properties from your Tellie site.
Complete your Profile
Set your Tellie Username / Tellie URL to something that reflects you as a person, the name of your band, company, project, etc.
Upload a representative Profile Image and Banner image. Something like headshots, press photos, logo, etc and make sure to use the tips for image handling above.
Be sure to complete the Name and Bio fields. Your bio field is a great way to add even more searchable information to your site by listing notable things that you’ve done, places you’ve been, and relationships you have. Basically, make sure to add anything people might include when they search for you.
Complete your Page Details
On each Page you create, you have the opportunity to add in Page Details from the Details panel in your Page Editor.
If you’ve unlocked Pro, you can also choose a custom URL for any page you create. Consider the words you use for your URL, as this represents an SEO opportunity.
Either way, be sure to give your page a descriptive title and description (consider key words like the name of the project you are sharing, or words that people might search for when looking for your project or business), and to add a thumbnail using the image handling tips above.
Create a Dedicated Landing Page
A standout feature of Tellie is that you can create as many landing pages as you'd like. This means that you can have a main page that you link out to from your link-in-bio, and then additional pages for new album releases, film projects, projects, events and more. These additional pages always show up in your Tellie menu, and you can also add them to your link list or as a linked image or stand alone link. During a launch moment, you might even make a specific landing page your link-in-bio link!
Creating a landing page is an excellent way to boost your SEO as it is a way to grow your relevance as it relates to certain key words.
